WOOD BUILDINGS

More about our services…

The use of wood, as a construction material, is becoming more prevalent in larger and higher buildings. The National Construction Code of Australia as well as the Ontario Building Code, National Building Code of Canada, and British Columbia Building Code permit the construction of wood building up to six storeys in building height. Furthermore, the use of alternative solutions has permitted the use of wood construction beyond six storeys in Canada.

Ignis Solutions has assisted design teams with the calculation of the fire resistance of structural elements, fire service provisions, and fire safety in wood buildings. Ignis Solutions is also well versed in the use of alternative solutions and fire engineering analysis to demonstrate that the fire and life safety objectives of the building code are achieved.
